Wookie's History:

Wookie is estimated to be 11 this year – he came into rescue around the age of 2 – based on his teeth and testicle size – and we made his birthday April 5, 2000. He has had an ACL tear surgery (left leg) in 2007, and currently has a small tear in the right one, which we are NOT going to repair because it completely debilitates him and we will not put him through that. We limit his movements to basic, (stairs, walking, etc.), no running or jumping, and the tear seems to have self corrected pretty much. But he is Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and Golden Retriever mix and the Golden history of hip discomfort and arthritis is surely the cause. He has NO dysplasia and no other issues. He is currently on G/C compound (the human ones) I give him half the normal dose for a human and it does help, but I want to see him enjoy life more.

Wookie's limp is gone and he can beat his Mom up the stairs.
Not bad for a dog that could barely walk up the stairs a few months ago.

Well, the company that makes it donated a bottle of tablets to Sarut, which Kim started her on and sent with her to her new home today. I couldn’t overlook the claims so I purchased a bottle for Wookie.
